相づち

　日本語の会話では、話の聞き手が、「はい」や「うん」「そうですね」などという短いことばを言ったりします。これは返事ではなく「相づち」と言われる行動で、日本人との会話をスムーズに進める上で、とても大切なものです。　ここにいろいろな会話のビデオがあります。　ビデオを見て、聞き手がどんなふうに相づちを打つか、観察してください。

During a conversation in Japanese, the listener often gives short verbal reactions which are not replies but "Aizuchi" (Back-channel behavior). Back-channeling is very important to have smooth conversation with Japanese people.
