1.　歴史・考古・民俗資料から金属器（鉄・銅合金・金銀製品など）の起源とその進化、多様性を探る。

Exploring material resources (sourcing), evolution of production technology (smelting, refining and casting), and diversity of metal and metallic alloy artifacts (iron and copper-base alloy artifacts, gold-silver ornaments) from historical, archaeological, and ethnological artifacts.

 

2.　石器・石製品石材（ヒスイ、ネフライトなど）産地の推定による生産と流通ネットワークを探る。

Exploring production and distribution networks by estimating the geological sourcing and cultural origins of stone artifacts (jade, nephrite, etc.).

 

3.　粘土製品（土器、瓦など）の胎土・混和材の地質学的情報や焼成温度を理解する。

Understanding the geological information of the clays and tempers used in earthwares (pottery, ceramics, roof tiles, etc.) and burning temperature.

 

4.　彩色遺物（ガラス、壁画、彩色土製品、顔料鉱物など）の化学成分を把握し、美術史的に理解する。

5.　考古学の現場と実験室における出土物の非破壊化学同定分析方法の確立。
